COVID 19 UPDATE

Firstly we hope everyone is fit, well and staying safe?

We have to say this has been a bit of a roller coaster year so far, by February this year we were on course for our busiest year ever and as well as our own trips we had teamed up with two new international holiday companies who wanted to use us as their UK agents (we now subcontract work from 14 other holiday companies all over the world who want to bring their clients to the UK)

We ran our first (and only) trip of the year on 15th March, 2 guys from York riding the C2C with us over 3 days…. and that’s been it!!

The Coronavirus has made it’s worldwide presence felt, lockdown has happened and the whole world has ground to a stop!

The questions now are:

When will we be able to supply trips again?

How will things look in the future, are there any fundamental changes required?

How do we ensure that we, you and the other people around us are kept as safe as possible, whilst still being able to enjoy your cycling holidays and our wonderful countryside?

How will all this affect the financial costs and pricing of our trips?

To be honest, at the moment we don’t have any definative answers to these questions.  Accommodations, cafes and restaurants are currently set to reopen from 4th July, however we don’t know what restrictions will be put upon them.

The UK Government has done much to alleviate any financial burden on most businesses and individuals, however it has also put major hurdles in the way of encouraging tourist to restart in the UK, with 14 day isolation measures currently in place for anyone arriving by plane into the UK.

We will try and keep everyone up to date on our trips and also if necessary on alternative “Covid 19 friendly” trips that we will be initiating soon.

On a positive note, our workshop is the tidiest it has ever been, the bikes have been cleaned, serviced and are raring to go and I’ve managed to get more riding in that I have probably done in the past 20 years!
